SUMMARY:Eat Your Heart Out
DESCRIPTION:A socially distanced communal dining experience benefitting the Center \nWhat do we do when we can’t gather all together? We gather separately… together… to benefit the Center. \nHere’s how it works. \n\n\n\nFolks who are part of the Center’s community\, whether you live in CB\, Gunnison\, Santa Cruz\, Dallas\, or anywhere in between\, volunteer to host a dinner party. Our goal is to have 70 parties hosted over three dates this summer. Hosts cover the costs of the party and can choose any theme or cuisine they like (casual backyard BBQ\, taco night\, or catered five-course meal) – anything goes.\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nInvite the guests of your choice\, up to the maximum allowed by the current public health order in your area. Help the Center raise needed funds by asking each of your guests to make a tax-deductible donation. (You decide what donation amount best fits your party and your guests!) The Center will provide you with printed invitations to snail mail (along with a reply card for your guests’ donations so you don’t have to worry about collecting them!) or digital invitations to email (along with a link to donate online).\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nHost your party on one of the following dates.* The Center will send you or deliver to you a special\, surprise favor for each guest (a different one for each date!).\n\nFriday\, June 26\nFriday\, July 24\nFriday\, August 21\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nEnjoy gathering with friends while supporting the Center – and knowing that dozens of others are doing the same thing on the same night! \n* If you’d like to host but are unavailable on these dates\, never fear! You can host your party any time. \nInterested in hosting a party?\nShoot us a message at info@crestedbuttearts.org and we’ll be in touch soon! \nAnd stay tuned for more information…

SUMMARY:CANCELED Ski Town Breakdown with Ghostland Observatory
DESCRIPTION:Due to an outbreak of the Covid-19 in Crested Butte\, all events in March are CANCELED \nDATE: March 21st\, 2020 \nTIME: 4:30 pm \nLOCATION: Crested Butte Mountain Resort Base Area  \nSpring skiing conditions are always a reason to celebrate\, but a free concert in the base area turns the weekend into an even better party! Cruise down to the base on Saturday\, March 21st for live tunes\, cold drinks\, and good vibes at the Skitown Breakdown – our FREE spring concert – featuring Ghostland Observatory. Ghostland Observatory’s entire approach to music – sonically\, aesthetically\, conceptually – is essentially a melding of the two distinctly different personalities of its two members\, Thomas Ross Turner and Aaron Behrens. Behrens and Turner formed Ghostland Observatory in Austin in 2003 and haven’t looked back since. They now sell out prominent venues across the country\, have played at Lollapalooza\, Bonaroo\, Coachella and the Austin City Limits music festival\, which they headlined\, and continue to play at various music festivals and venues around the globe to an ever increasing fan base\, thanks to their now-famous live shows. The duo creates shimmering\, pulsing pop music that is at once kinetically alive with Behrens’ striking vocals and driving guitar work but also anchored firmly by Turner’s percussive beats and Moog-generated melodies and hooks. Common descriptions include “electro-dance rock\,” “synth-funk” and “Freddie Mercury-helms-Daft Punk.” Their latest offering\, “Codename: Rondo”\, takes a step in a new direction\, both creatively and technically\, while still maintaining the essential elements of their unmistakable sound: “sweaty\, raw-boned\, and direct from the future; committed to electronics\, stuck on big beats\, yet unmistakably powered by rock ‘n’ roll.” You won’t want to miss this untamed experience in the base area at Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

SUMMARY:Center for the Arts: Anders Osborne & Jackie Greene (POSTPONED)
DESCRIPTION:Due to COVID-19 coronavirus concerns all the Center’s March live performances and some classes at the Center for the Arts have been postponed until a future date More information can be found HERE\nRaging\, expressive guitar. Soulful\, rugged singing. A phenomenal blend of self-awareness\, spirit and muscle. These are just some of the words Relix Magazine uses to describe New Orleans’ blues guitar man Anders Osborne. New Orleans’ Gambit Weekly recently honored Osborne as “Entertainer of the Year\,” he’s OffBeat’s three-time winner of “Best Guitarist\,” and twice named their “Best Songwriter.” He’s appeared on Galactic albums\, co-written songs with Tab Benoit and Mike Zito\, had Johnny Lang record others\, and most notably wrote two songs for Keb’ Mo’s Grammy-winning album\, Slow Down. Risk-taking anthems\, precision guitar playing and the tremulous wail rising from emotional chaos have Guitar Player calling him the “poet laureate of Louisiana’s fertile roots music scene.” Paired with Americana and roots singer-songwriter Jackie Greene\, a jack-of-all-trades\, and an artist who can croon over soulful piano ballads as much as he can shred a bluesy guitar solo (like he did as the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013). A road warrior and musician’s musician\, Greene’s new EP ‘The Modern Lives – Vol 2’ (out October 2018 on Blue Rose Music) finds him at a new chapter in his life: his first months of fatherhood\, time off his relentless touring circuit\, and a cross-country move from Brooklyn to his birthplace of Northern California. \nDoors: 7:30 pm\nShow: 8 pm\nCost: $25 – $45\nFriday\, March 20
