Crested Butte Chili and Beer Festival held at the base of the Crested Butte Mountain Resort.  Sample locally made chilis\, sip some of Colorado’s finest craft beer\, and enjoy some great tunes from Grammy winning artist Bronwyn Keith Hynes\, plus opening act by Pickpockets.  \nThe 27th Annual Mt. Crested Butte Chili & Beer Festival is a celebration of locally made Chili and Colorado brewed beer that draws both locals and visitors to the base area for a music\, chili\, and beer-filled afternoon. The event is located at the Base Area of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Locals are welcome to enter chili into the competition along with participating restaurants. Participants will be asked to vote on their favorite Beer and Chili. We expect this event to sell out this year as it has in years past. We will have up to 12 categories\, each receiving a cash prize based on participant votes. \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n\nTransportation\nThere are numerous FREE transportation options so please refrain from drinking and driving. \nRTA: The final RTA bus running from Mt. DESCRIPTION:Chainless Returns Friday\, June 24\, 2022 \nOnly in Crested Butte would we come up with a gravity-fed race like this. Bigger bikes. Bigger costumes. More ridiculous antics. Do whatever it takes to get you here in time for the Chainless. Racers weigh down their bikes\, put on ridiculous costumes\, and remove their chains before racing the seven miles from Kebler Pass into downtown Crested Butte. \nThe race starts at 4:20 pm sharp\, and the one who stays off her brakes the most wins. Well\, actually\, everybody wins. Even the spectators hanging out at the end of Elk to watch the carnage. \nChainless Day of Schedule \n\n9:00 am-12 pm: Registration and bike drop off at the 4-Way Stop. All bikes MUST be dropped off by NOON\n2:30- 3:30 pm: Participant shuttles to the top of Kebler Pass leave from the 4-Way Stop. Don’t miss the shuttle\, and don’t be late- there will be NO shuttles after 3:30\, and if the last one’s full\, you’re on your own getting up there.\n4:20 pm: Race starts – sprint for your bike and coast as fast as you can the 7 miles down to town.

Join us in Mountaineer Square for an evening of fun and celebration! \n  \nReindeer Scavenger Hunt\nOUR REINDEER TEAM IS MISSING\, CAN YOU HELP US FIND THEM? \nOur team of Reindeer have been running all over town since last holiday season. Can you help us spot them in local businesses? We will be searching for our reindeer from December 8 through December 15\, 2021. Want to join the fun? Scavenger Hunt Lists with the Reindeer’s last known locations will be available to pick up in the Crested Butte Visitor Center or at participating businesses during this time. But be wary\, these reindeer are just coming off vacation and could be a little cranky\, so do not approach them! If you spot one\, find an employee of the establishment you are in and let them know that you have spotted a reindeer! They will then initial your list and we will deploy our reindeer capture team! Once you have spotted 10 or more reindeer\, bring your list back to the Crested Butte Visitor Center for a sweet treat! \n  \nHoliday Window Display Contest\nSEE THE SIGHTS AROUND TOWN AND MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT! \nHoliday window displays have been a winter attraction since the first time Macy’s decorated their windows in 1874. This holiday season\, take part in Crested Butte’s very own Holiday Window Display Contest December 8 through December 15\, 2021! Stop by the Crested Butte Visitor Center to pick up a list of participating businesses and your blue voting ornament! Once you decide which window display is your favorite\, give your blue voting ornament to an employee of the business. The business with the most ornaments by December 15\, 2021 will be our Public Choice winner! This year we will also have a Pro-Judging category\, judged by the Visitor Center’s very own Information Specialists! Winners will be announced in the Crested Butte News on December 23. \n

DESCRIPTION:Mardi Gras Restaurant Crawl \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFat Tuesday\, February 16th\n\n\n\nLocals and visitors stop by the CB Visitor’s Center on Fat Tuesday to pick up beads and a complimentary walking tour map featuring participating restaurants and their Mardi Gras themed offerings. Complete 5 or more stops and be entered to win a $500 cash prize!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Drawing details: Stop at any 5 of the participating stops on the Mardi Gras Restaurant Crawl map on 2/16/21 and bring your receipts back to the CB Visitor’s Center to be entered into a drawing for $500 cash. Drawing will take place on Tuesday\, February 23rd. Winners will be notified via email. Must be 21 years or older to participate. Five receipts may be combined from multiple parties for a total of one entry.

DESCRIPTION:CHILI AND BEER LIVES ON\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2020 in-person event has been cancelled\, but the celebration continues with our Chili & Beer Kits!\n\n\n\n\nOur 2020 at home celebration kits are on sale now! Be sure to save the date for our 23rd annual Festival to be held September 11\, 2021. This year\, we are bringing the magic of the festival to you. Our Chili and Beer kits will provide you with a tasting flight of locally made chili and CO craft beer. Local pick up will be available on October 3 and votes will be cast by the end of the weekend. New this year\, your Chili and Beer ticket helps support the participating local restaurants too!\n\n\n\nTICKETS HERE $40\n\n\n\n\nTicket includes six 8 oz bowls of take-home ready frozen chili from our participating restaurants\, six cans of assorted CO craft beers from our participating beer vendors (ranging in size from 12oz\, 16oz\, and a crowler)\, a Chili and Beer branded tasting cup\, and a Chili and Beer branded reusable bag. Ticket holders also receive the chance to vote in our 2020 tasting competition.\n\n*Kits must be picked up locally outside of 9380 Restaurant and Tavern in Mt. Crested Butte on October 3\, 2020\, from 11 am-3 pm and be 21 years or older with a valid I.D. \n\n** The first 50 ticket holders will receive an additional 16 oz CO craft beer with their kit and will be notified via email.
