The signature event for our local club is the annual Duck Race in August whose proceeds fund college scholarships for local high-schoolers and other worthy causes supporting the youth of the Upper Gunnison Valley. \nMeetings are held every other week at the Elevation Hotel & Spa in the Matchstick Lounge inside the José restaurant. SUMMARY:CB Rotary: 33rd Annual Duckie Race
DESCRIPTION:The Great Rubber Duckie Race is the Crested Butte/Mt Crested Butte Rotary Club’s sole fundraiser for the year. We host the duck race on Coal Creek the first Sunday in August and it’s a lot of fun! \nEach $10 ticket or $500 Big Duck goes towards the goal of raising over $55\,000 each year. \nBUY 2022 TICKETS HERE\nWhere does the money go? \nEach year\, the CB/Mt CB Rotary has two grant cycles where roughly $8\,000 is distributed to local non-profit organizations that have a focus on providing resources and scholarships to children as well as organizations that our community depends on. \nEvery spring the Rotary gives $25\,000 in college scholarships to local students headed off to college. These students apply and go through an interview process that helps prepare them for future endeavors. \nSupport from our community\, members\, visitors\, family and friends has made the Rubber Duckie Race an integral part of summer in Crested Butte. Your continued donations and efforts have helped to raise over $50\,000 annually. Visit Community Support to see exactly where your money goes! \nThank you for supporting the Crested Butte Community through your participation in the Great Rubber Duckie Race. \n\n \nDuck Race Sponsors
